1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or its content. We may update these terms when the website, services, or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.

2. Content ownership

Unless another owner is clearly identified, the original writing, stories, quotations, videos, images, graphics, downloads, and other materials on this website are owned by or licensed to Onika L. Dainty. The website design and technical operation may include work managed by SturdyCloud.

You may access the website for personal, informational, and non-commercial reading. No ownership rights are transferred to you.

3. Quoting, referencing, and reposting

You may link to an original page or quote a brief excerpt for a lawful, non-commercial purpose only when you:

  • clearly acknowledge Onika L. Dainty as the creator;
  • include a direct link to the original content on onikadainty.com;
  • preserve the meaning and context of the original work;
  • do not suggest that Onika endorses you, your organization, or your message; and
  • do not receive money, advertising revenue, fees, sponsorship, or other financial compensation from the use.

Reposting a complete article, story, video, image, or substantial portion of the content requires prior written approval. Removing Onika’s name, altering her words, or presenting her lived experience as your own is not permitted.

4. Repurposing requires written approval

You must request written approval before adapting, republishing, reproducing, compiling, translating, recording, teaching from, distributing, or otherwise repurposing Onika’s content for monetary or non-monetary gain.

This includes use in books, articles, courses, workshops, presentations, podcasts, videos, social posts, newsletters, fundraising, advertising, memberships, products, services, research materials, organizational resources, or artificial intelligence training and datasets.

No financial compensation or commercial benefit may be gained through the use of Onika’s content unless written permission expressly allows it.

Request permission before repurposing content.

Send the content link, intended use, audience, format, and whether any money or other benefit is involved to [email protected].

Nothing in these terms is intended to limit rights available under applicable Canadian law, including fair dealing. Where a legal exception applies, attribution and a link to the original content are still requested whenever reasonably possible.

5. Lived experience and mental health information

Onika shares lived experience, personal reflection, public education, and general information. This content is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, counselling, crisis support, or a substitute for care from a qualified professional.

If you are in Canada and need suicide crisis support, call or text 9-8-8. If there is immediate danger, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department.

6. Website use and responsibility

Respectful and lawful use

Do not misuse the website, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, copy restricted materials, impersonate another person, or use the content to harass, stigmatize, exploit, or harm anyone.

External links

The website links to third-party websites and services. Those organizations control their own content, availability, privacy practices, and terms. A link does not automatically mean endorsement.

No guarantee

We work to keep the website useful and accurate, but we do not guarantee that every page, link, resource, or statement will always be complete, current, or available. Use the website at your own judgment and risk, to the extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without limiting any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. SturdyCloud limitation of liability and indemnity

SturdyCloud provides website design, hosting coordination, maintenance, security, and other technical support. SturdyCloud does not author, approve, verify, or guarantee Onika’s personal stories, opinions, mental health information, external resources, third-party content, or the decisions visitors make after reading or using the website.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SturdyCloud and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and service providers are not responsible or liable for any loss, harm, claim, cost, interruption, error, omission, unauthorized access, reliance, decision, action, or consequence arising from or connected with the website, its content, its availability, third-party services, external links, or your use of or inability to use the website. This limitation applies to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, and economic losses, where those categories may lawfully be excluded.

Your indemnity

By accessing or using this website, you agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SturdyCloud and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your unlawful use of the website, your breach of these terms, your infringement of another person’s rights, your misuse or unauthorized republication of content, or material you submit or transmit through the website.

Nothing in these terms excludes SturdyCloud’s responsibility for its own obligations or conduct where that responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded, waived, or limited. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
